Work Days and Fly Fits

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

For me, style is a gateway to a completely separate world. In this world this world of style, I am able to express myself through the clothing I wear and how I wear it. There is no other outside noise when it comes to my fashion and style. Fashion is really one of those very few elements that cannot be taken from me. It's mine. It makes me happy. It empowers me.

Friday, (Nov. 6) was no extra special day or any particular event of any kind besides... work. (For now) I work as a Service Experience Representative at Nordstrom Rack. I have been working at the Rack for going on almost 3 years. It was actually the only job that called me back out of the hundreds and hundreds of jobs that I applied to before and after graduating from Hampton University in 2017.

It is no hidden fact that Nordstrom is the place of all things fashion, style, and expression. So with that being said, although I may be servicing customers on my feet all day, why not do it while looking fly right?

I don't know if it was simply because it was Friday and I felt great, or simply because I dress nicely every day, but I really wanted to make a meaningful outfit to wear to work. I wanted to add color and do something different with two colors I had never really meshed together before (yellow and green).

I decided to grab this relaxed longline, long sleeve tee shirt from ASOS and paired it with green nylon cargo pants from one of my newest favorite, BLACK-owned brands, Zella Fermani! I even paid a little tribute to my job and ended the fit with black and yellow vans that I picked up from my very own, Nordstrom Rack. As soon as I walked into work, I was greeted with a plethora of compliments, looks, and questions on where I shop.

It definitely made my Friday work day smooth and enjoyable
