Celebrations!

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

It's been quite some time since I released a style post (I know, I've been lacking), but I feel that it's time to get back to it. For many who know me, they know I love style. I usually say fashion, but I think the proper term is style because fashion trends fade, but style is what is everlasting.

With that being said, over this past weekend, several of my close friends and I came together to bring in and celebrate another one of my very close friends, Kiersten for her 25th birthday. To bring in the momentous occasion, she decided to have a nice elegant dinner at Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab located on 750 15th Street NW, Washington D.C.

Initially, when Kiersten finally decided on what she wanted to do for her birthday she made it clear that 1. Joe's is a pretty sophisticated, refined vibe with great food. Therefore, we needed to dress the part and look nice. I don't really "dress up" often except for occasions as such so I was actually excited to see what I could conjure up from my closet without buying something new (I have this actual terrible habit of feeling I need to purchase new threads for every new event, and usually I end up wearing the item maybe once or twice and then forgetting about it).

For the dinner, I decided to pair this regular fit, black and white striped shirt from ASOS.com, with a double-breasted wool overcoat from the boohooMAN collection, also sold on ASOS. For the bottoms, I wore black distressed denim from mnml.la. For my accessory of choice, I decided to pair this entire look with blue square panel shades from Gloss the label. I ended the fit with Balenciaga Speed High Slip-On's from Nordstrom.

When it comes to my style, I try to incorporate streetwear in everything I execute. I love high-fashioned appeal outfits. I wanted to mix my concept of "dressy" with luxury fashion and create a lane that is perfect for me. I really enjoyed this outfit and the entire outing. And again, Happy 25th Birthday Kiersten! I love you.
